The rules that keep
CompileMate fair.

By accessing or using CompileMate, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. Your continued use after any update to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

• You must provide accurate, current information when registering and keep it up to date
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account
• One account per person — creating multiple accounts to farm MateCoins, inflate rank, or evade a ban is prohibited
• Notify us immediately at security@compilemate.in if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

You agree to use CompileMate fairly and respectfully. You must not:

• Cheat in contests or battles — including sharing answers mid-contest, using multiple accounts, or automating submissions
• Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, probe or disrupt the judge, sandbox, or any Platform infrastructure
• Upload malicious code, attempt sandbox escapes, or submit code intended to harm the execution environment
• Harass, abuse, or discriminate against other users in the social feed, comments, chat or team spaces
• Post plagiarized content, spam, or infringing material anywhere on the Platform
• Scrape, resell or redistribute Platform content (problems, editorials, leaderboard data) without written permission

Violating this section may result in warnings, submission invalidation, MateCoin or rank forfeiture, suspension, or permanent termination, at our discretion.

Your code. You retain full ownership of the code and solutions you submit. By submitting, you grant CompileMate a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, execute and analyze your submissions solely to provide and improve the Platform (for example, judging, plagiarism detection, and anonymized aggregate statistics).

Our content. Problems, editorials, learning paths, certificates, badges, graphics and the CompileMate name and logo are owned by CompileMate or its licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, redistribute or create derivative platforms from this content without permission.

Community content. Posts, comments, snippets and discussions you publish remain yours, but by posting publicly you grant other users and CompileMate a license to view and interact with that content as intended by the feature.

• MateCoins are a virtual, in-platform currency with no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money
• MateCoins and vouchers earned have no monetary redemption value outside the Platform's marketplace
• We may adjust how MateCoins are earned, their marketplace prices, or available rewards at any time, with reasonable notice for material changes
• Rewards, vouchers and promo codes are subject to availability, expiry dates and the specific terms shown at redemption
• We reserve the right to reverse MateCoins or rewards obtained through cheating, exploits or fraudulent activity

Contest schedules, problems, scoring and leaderboards are managed by CompileMate and may be adjusted in case of technical issues, judge errors, or detected malpractice. Final rankings and prizes (where applicable) are at our reasonable discretion, and disqualification may apply for rule violations discovered after a contest ends.

The AI Tutor, hints, code reviews and AI-generated problems are provided to support — not replace — your learning. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for submitting contest solutions or professional decisions. We may rate-limit or charge MateCoins for AI feature usage to keep the service sustainable.

CompileMate integrates with third-party services including Google and GitHub for sign-in, and job postings from external companies. We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of these third parties. Your use of such integrations is also subject to their own terms.

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or engage in conduct harmful to the Platform or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately; certain provisions of these Terms (ownership, liability, governing law) survive termination.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted/error-free operation. We do not guarantee that using CompileMate will result in job offers, interview success, or any specific outcome.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CompileMate and its founder/team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue or opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount, if any, you paid to CompileMate in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for most users on a free platform, is zero).

You agree to indemnify and hold CompileMate harmless from any claims, damages or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the Platform, or infringement of any third-party right.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. We encourage you to first contact us directly at legal@compilemate.in to resolve any dispute informally.

We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves. We will notify users of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
